OUR STORY
FreightForge was built because trusted carrier relationships shouldn't be this hard.
We built FreightForge out of direct experience with the friction in freight — the manual vetting, the load board dependency, the fraud exposure, and the carrier relationships that fell through the cracks because there was no system to maintain them. FreightForge is the platform we wished existed.

THE TEAM
Built by 306 Digital — Minneapolis, MN.
FreightForge is a 306 Digital product. We're a small, focused team of builders who work at the intersection of freight operations and technology infrastructure.

Advisor / Partner
Industry advisor · FreightForge
A freight industry advisor with operational brokerage or 3PL experience adds enormous credibility. Consider formalizing an advisory relationship with someone already in your network.
A note on team size: FreightForge is intentionally lean. The platform is built on mature, extensible infrastructure — 18+ custom WordPress plugins, federal API integrations, and a 50,000+ carrier dataset — that doesn't require a large team to operate. What it requires is deep domain expertise and focused execution, which is exactly what 306 Digital brings.
HOW IT'S BUILT
Enterprise-grade infrastructure. Independently operated.
FreightForge is built on a mature, extensible WordPress + custom plugin stack — purpose-built for the specific data architecture freight operations require at scale.
Purpose-built for freight data at scale
Carrier profiles are stored in custom database tables — not WordPress post meta — engineered for performance across 50,000+ records with complex filtering, sorting, and API export requirements. The data model reflects how freight actually works: lanes, zones, equipment types, insurance layers, fraud scoring.
Federal data, not self-reported
Every carrier and broker profile is built from FMCSA federal data pulled via the Socrata API at data.transportation.gov — the authoritative source for operating authority, insurance, and safety records. No self-reported carrier data enters the directory without federal cross-validation.
Extensible by design
18+ custom plugins using a modular ff- architecture mean new capabilities can be added — new data sources, new verification layers, new integration endpoints — without rebuilding the platform. TMS and 3PL partners can integrate via REST API without touching the core infrastructure.
Hosted in the US. Data stays in the US.
FreightForge is hosted on xCloud infrastructure with US-based data residency. Carrier and broker data — including fraud flags and verification records — never leaves US-controlled infrastructure. This matters for compliance-conscious enterprise buyers.

WHAT DRIVES US
Three principles FreightForge is built on.
Trust is infrastructure
The freight industry's fraud problem isn't a behavior problem — it's an infrastructure problem. There's no shared verification layer that every participant can rely on. That's what FreightForge is building. Trust as a utility, not a manual process.
Automation should replace friction, not people
We automate the work that shouldn't require a human — FMCSA lookups, fraud scoring, data validation. That frees your team to do the work that does require a human: building relationships, covering freight, growing a book of business.
Both sides of the transaction deserve protection
Freight technology has historically been built for brokers and shippers. Carriers — especially owner-operators — have been afterthoughts. FreightForge gives carriers the same fraud protection layer, the same verification tools, and the same voice in building trusted relationships.
ORIGIN STORY
Why we built FreightForge.
“The freight industry runs on relationships. But the tools brokers had were built for transactions — not relationships.”
FreightForge started with a simple observation: freight brokers were spending hours every week doing work that should take minutes. Manual FMCSA lookups. Email chains to collect certificates of insurance. Spreadsheets tracking which carriers were approved and which weren't. And at the end of all that manual work, they still had no reliable way to know if the carrier they'd onboarded was who they said they were.
At the same time, the industry's fraud problem was getting worse. Double brokering schemes were becoming more sophisticated. Ghost carriers with active FMCSA authority but no physical operation were slipping through manual vetting processes. And carriers — the small owner-operators running two or three trucks — had no tools at all to check the brokers calling them.
We built FreightForge to solve the infrastructure problem underneath all of this: the absence of a trust layer in freight. Not another load board. Not another TMS add-on. A verification and relationship infrastructure that every participant in the freight ecosystem — brokers, 3PLs, TMS providers, carriers — could rely on.
306 Digital built and operates FreightForge. We're based in Minneapolis, MN, and we bring a technology-first approach to a problem the industry has been trying to solve with spreadsheets and phone calls for decades.
